How SLX Works

Unlike some at-home aligner brands, SLX Clear Aligners require a visit to a dental professional to ensure an accurate mold of your teeth is made for your new appliance.

SLXTM Clear Aligners consist of a pair of plastic trays shaped to your teeth. They align your teeth over time by applying continuous light force.

How to Get Started

To get started with SLX Clear Aligners, make an appointment with an orthodontist. They will determine if the brand is a good choice for you.

If you decide to start treatment, the orthodontist will first scan your teeth. They will send the scans to SLX, who will manufacture your customized mold.

During your initial appointment, the orthodontist will use the Carriere® Motion 3D™ Appliance, which is unique to SLX. This appliance employs the SAGITTAL FIRST™ Philosophy, which standardizes, simplifies, and shortens the time to treat:

• Class II misalignments (where the upper molars are too forward compared to the lower molars)
• Class III misalignments (where the lower molars are too forward compared to the upper molars)

It applies gentle force to your teeth to jumpstart the alignment process.

The appliance resolves the most difficult part of the treatment first, before placing the aligners. In doing so, it can achieve a Class I occlusion, or ideal bite, in 3 to 6 months, shortening total treatment time by a minimum of 6 months.

Treatment Process

Once you receive your aligners, you can proceed with treatment, during which you must wear your aligners all day and all night.

Typically, you should wear your aligner for 22 hours a day, unless otherwise directed by your provider. You may remove it to eat meals and brush and floss your teeth. You should also wear it while sleeping.
