Hismile Colour Corrector Review Summary

This is a review of Hismile’s V34 Colour Corrector. In this article, we’ll cover:

Why Trust Our Review?

Hismile recommends using the V34 Colour Corrector with the VIO405™ Teeth Whitening Kit.

We determined Hismile as the best at-home whitening product for sensitive teeth by:

  • Having two writers test out Hismile’s kit (they both experienced zero sensitivity and noticeable results after 2 to 3 uses)
  • Testing the V34 Colour Corrector after using VIO405™ Teeth Whitening Kit (results were enhanced after using this product)
  • Reading through hundreds of customer reviews from multiple websites
  • Conducting 40+ hours of research on the effectiveness of at-home whitening, sensitivity, PAP+ (Hismile’s main ingredient that fights sensitivity), and more
  • Talking to industry experts about PAP+ and sensitivity-free whitening, including Hismile itself

Hismile Colour Corrector Review: Does it Work?

Hismile’s V34 Colour Corrector is like purple shampoo for your teeth. Anyone who has bleached their hair knows the importance of this shampoo. It keeps your hair from turning yellow, removes brassy tones, and prevents dullness.

Like purple shampoo, the V34 Colour Corrector brightens teeth using color-correcting technology. It counterbalances the different hues in your teeth, helping conceal stains and improve their brightness.

Here’s how it works:

  • Yellow and purple are complementary colors. They are opposite each other on the color wheel.
  • The V34 formula is a precise balance of two water-soluble dyes, forming a deep violet tone.
  • Applying it to your teeth neutralizes the yellow undertones and cancels them, revealing a noticeably brighter shade of white.
  • The formula can cancel out any shade of yellow without leaving behind residue.

Who Benefits From the V34 Colour Corrector?

This product is designed for people looking to further brighten their teeth after using the PAP+ whitening kit.

PAP+ lightens and reduces the saturation of yellow stains. V34 balances the cool and warm tones (hue) in your teeth to create a more vibrant shade of white.

People with very white teeth also benefit from this product because it helps even out tooth color.

How to Use the V34 Colour Corrector

V34 is best used as a post-whitening treatment. Hismile recommends using it after a full PAP+ whitening session.

However, it can also be used every day on its own or before an event to remove yellow undertones on your teeth. Follow these steps:

  1. Apply two pumps to a soft bristle toothbrush
  2. Brush in a circular motion for two minutes
  3. Spit the gel out like regular toothpaste (don’t swallow)
  4. Refrain from rinsing your mouth with water

All Hismile products are safe to use on dental restorations. This includes fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, bonds, and implants. But keep in mind that restorations can’t be color-corrected like your real teeth.

My Experience Using Hismile V34 Colour Corrector

I used Hismile’s Colour Corrector one time. The image above shows the before and after of my smile.

I didn’t whiten my teeth beforehand (because they’re already fairly white). I used the V34 like toothpaste and brushed my teeth for two minutes.

In the top photo (before), my teeth are white with some yellow staining on the edges and top near the gums.

In the bottom photo (after), the yellow tint around the edges of my teeth seemed to disappear almost completely after the first use. My overall tooth color lightened and the brightness evened out.

The most surprising thing about this product is how fast it worked.

I routinely whiten my teeth at home and always notice uneven whitening. The Colour Corrector serum got rid of that almost instantly.

This product is easy to use and tastes great. The gel is also bright purple. It’s an excellent way to even out your tooth color after using at-home whitening products.

Hismile Overview

HismileColourCorrector

Hismile is an Australian-based brand of peroxide-free whitening products. They are widely known in the UK and are growing in popularity in other countries.

Hismile uses a proprietary formula to whiten discolored teeth without sensitivity or irritation.

Their most popular product is the VIO405™ Teeth Whitening Kit. It includes three powerful, enamel-safe ingredients to provide instant results:

  1. Phthalimidoperoxycaproicacid (PAP) is proven to whiten teeth without gum irritation or tooth sensitivity.
  2. Hydroxyapatite (nHAp) rebuilds enamel (the protective layer of teeth) and replaces lost minerals.
  3. Potassium citrate is an alkalizing agent that helps reduce pre-existing sensitivity and prevents it from developing.

Hismile also sells other whitening products. One standout is the V34 Colour Corrector. The special serum neutralizes yellow undertones and brightens dull, white teeth. It’s best used after a teeth whitening session but can also be used independently.

How Much Does the Hismile V34 Colour Corrector Cost?

On the Hismile website, the Hismile V34 Colour Corrector costs $28 for 30 mL or 1 fl. oz. Amazon lists the same product for $23.20.

Pros

  • A non-invasive way to enhance your teeth's color
  • Works fast (just around two minutes)
  • Easy to use
  • Doesn't leave behind any residue

Cons

  • Works better after using the PAP+ whitening kit
  • Won't necessarily whiten your teeth; rather, it neutralizes the yellow undertones

What Is the V34 Colour Corrector Powder?

The Hismile V34 Colour Corrector Powder offers the same color correcting technology in powder form. To use this product, dip your toothbrush in the powder and brush for 30 seconds.

Colour Correcting Powder Hismile

Just like the gel formula, the color corrector powder is recommended as a post whitening treatment. It will help eliminate unwanted yellow undertones on your teeth and brighten your teeth with regular use.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How often should you use Hismile Colour Corrector?

You can use this product daily if you'd like, but Hismile recommends using it right after a whitening session with the VIO405™ Teeth Whitening Kit.

Is V34 safe on teeth?

Hismile's V34 Colour Corrector doesn't include harmful chemicals, so it should not damage your teeth.

How long does V34 take to work?

Based on my experience using the V34 Colour Corrector, you should see results after one use. The effects will be more vibrant if you use the product frequently.

How does V34 compare to other whitening products?

Hismile's V34 Colour Corrector is meant to be used after whitening sessions. However, you can also use it on its own after brushing your teeth. Since the product doesn't contain peroxide, the results might not be as noticeable as peroxide-containing products like Snow, GLO, and AuraGlow.

What are the potential side effects of V34?

Some dentists say the V34 Colour Corrector doesn't actually whiten teeth. For example, one dental hygienist writes, "Hismile V34 will not whiten teeth as no ingredient is present in the formula, which will oxidize the stain particles embedded within the tooth structure."

When used with Hismile's PAP+ whitening kit, the colour corrector will simply enhance the whitening effects. It might not whiten teeth on its own. More studies need to be done on this new whitening method.

How long does V34 colour corrector last?

The effects of Hismile's V34 Colour Corrector aren't permanent. If you don't use the product regularly, your teeth may return to how they look like before.
