Chomper Labs Night Guard: How it Works

Chomper Labs uses a simple process for designing and manufacturing your customized night guard. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Choose Your Night Guard

The first thing you have to do is choose the design and model of your night guard. Chomper Labs offers four night guard models:

The Soft

The Soft model is ideal if you only grind your teeth lightly. It’s made of a soft, rubbery material that’s flexible and thin.

The Hybrid

You might choose the Hybrid model if you suspect moderate to heavy teeth grinding. Soft on the inside and hard on the outside, it’s comfortable and durable.

The Hard

Chomper Labs designed the Hard model for people with severe bruxism. It’s a rigid copolyester material that can withstand the heavy forces associated with severe bruxism.

The Retainer

The Retainer is for you if you need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth in alignment. It preserves results from braces or aligners while reducing bruxism symptoms.

Step 2: Make Your Impressions

Once you place your order, Chomper will send an impression kit to your door. It should arrive within 3 days of purchase.

The impression kit contains:

  • A standard tray
  • A small tray
  • Putty
  • ID card instructions
  • Return mailer

You’ll choose between the standard or small tray depending on the size of your mouth.

Brush and floss your teeth before making your impression. Then, mix the putty according to the instructions. Press them into the tray and hold them in your mouth for a few minutes.

Follow the directions closely, as timing is crucial to obtain an accurate mold of your mouth.

Step 3: Mail Your Mold

Next, pack up your mold as instructed and send it back to Chomper Labs using the pre-paid envelope.

Chomper’s dental lab technicians will manufacture your night guard using your unique mold.

Step 4: Receive Your Night Guard

Chomper Labs will manufacture and mail your night guard within 3 days of receiving your impressions.

From ordering to receiving, the entire process takes about 2.5 weeks. You can expedite the process by choosing the Fast Track option for a 24-hour manufacturing turnaround.

How Much Do Chomper Labs Night Guards Cost?

Chomper Labs night guards cost between $149 and $169, depending on your model. The costs listed below are for either an upper or lower arch.

  • The Soft – $149
  • The Hybrid – $169
  • The Hard – $169

What is Bruxism? How Do Night Guards Help?

Bruxism is the habit of grinding or clenching your teeth. It’s a common condition affecting about a third of adults.1

There’s no specific cause of bruxism, though many factors can contribute. These include stress, anxiety, alcohol use, and stimulants like coffee or medications. Some people may not be bothered by their bruxism, but others may experience symptoms like:

  • Sore or tight jaw muscles
  • Neck pain
  • Chronic headaches
  • Damaged or fractured teeth
  • Worn enamel, causing tooth sensitivity

While some people grind their teeth while awake, most grind them at night, sometimes without even realizing it. Wearing a night guard can protect your teeth and soft tissues and reduce any symptoms you experience.

Night guards act as a physical barrier between your teeth. They lower the force of grinding or clenching and reduce damage, tension, and pain.

Summary

Chomper Labs makes night guards to reduce symptoms of bruxism. You wear a night guard while sleeping to keep your teeth from grinding or clenching together.

With Chomper Labs, you’ll take an impression of your mouth at home. They’ll use this unique mold to make your custom night guard.

Chomper Labs isn’t the cheapest option compared to other brands, but it has a longer window for refunds and returns. It’s a great alternative to getting your night guard made at a dentist’s office.
