Our Mission

NewMouth is an informational web guide for anyone that needs dental care. Our mission is to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information on oral health. We do this by creating content that is based on dental literature, scientific journals, and the most recent dental research data available.

Our readers are our number one priority. We strive to create medically accurate content that is easy to understand. We hope that our hard work can help you make the right decisions when it comes time to choose your next oral health treatment or product.

Our Team

Our team is made of dentists, journalists, researchers, and professional medical writers. We are committed to creating the highest quality content in the dental industry. All of the content we create is fact-based and supported by science. Our sources include dentistry textbooks, scholarly articles, medical journals, and government agencies. This includes the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

Our Editorial Process

Every piece of content on our site goes through a meticulous review process. Each piece is reviewed at least four times, including a medical review by a licensed dentist. Our content publishing process contains several steps:

1. Customer Research

Because our readers are our number one priority, we strive to create content specifically for you. Our content strategy team spends several days each month researching our audience. We identify the most common problems and questions being asked. Our content strategy is focused on answering your questions and connecting you to the services and products you need to take care of your oral health.

2. Research & Creation

Once we decide to make a piece of content, our team begins researching the topic thoroughly. We scour medical journals, textbooks, and other high-quality medical content sources online. Once we have a grasp on what current scientific research and data, we create content that is objective and easy to understand.

3. Reviews & Edits

When our writers finish a piece of content, it enters our review process. It is thoroughly reviewed twice in-house and then submitted to our staff of medical editors. If any information is inaccurate or questionable, we take an even deeper dive into the subject. Only the content that is medically accurate according to dentists and scientists makes it to our site.

4. Publishing

Once a piece of content is approved, we post it to our website. Our team is constantly updating our UX to improve our reader's experience.

5. Always Updating

The field of dentistry is constantly evolving. That's why our content team is so vigilant at updating our content. Any time new research, techniques, or products are developed, we drop what we're doing and learn everything we can about it. We want our readers to receive the best care possible, so we'll tell you exactly what the science says about any new treatments.

Our Product Reviews

We take our product reviews and recommendations seriously. Our team is dedicated to providing readers with the most accurate, up-to-date, and helpful reviews possible. We test any product we can get our hands on ourselves, and rely heavily on our medical editors to tell us what really works and what doesn't.

We also try to find products that have the American Dental Association (ADA) Seal of Acceptance. These products are proven to be effective in preventing gum disease, cavities, and other oral health conditions. We still recommend some products that do not have this seal, but only if our research proves them to be effective and they get approved by our staff dentists.

In cases where we cannot test the products ourselves, our team will:

  • Compare positive and negative reviews on the products
  • Speak with dentists to find out what their practices say
  • Talk to company leaders to ensure their products are safe and effective
  • Look into costs to ensure customers are getting the best quality products at reasonable prices
  • Read research studies to compare the pros and cons of each product

Our dentists are specifically instructed to flag any recommendations they don’t agree with. Any products that don’t meet their professional standards are removed.

We receive an affiliate commission on some of the products that we recommend. However, our sources of funding do not affect our review process or the quality of our content.

Our Advertising Policy

NewMouth is funded by our readers. We make money by forming affiliate partnerships and displaying ads on our pages.

All of our affiliate partners have been researched and vetted thoroughly. We only partner with companies that will provide our readers with high-quality, affordable dental treatment or products.

We never let our partners or advertisers influence the content we create.
